What began as a case of Akshat killing his father over NEET exam pressure soon revealed a deeper motive, with sources saying the son was after his father's business. Akshat has now told the media that the murder was unintentional, though police are yet to clarify whether it was premeditated or a crime of passion.
Five days after the Lucknow blue drum murder case shook the nation, the accused Akshat has finally spoken in public about his father’s killing.
While being taken to the hospital for a medical check-up, he told India Today’s sister channel Aaj Tak that the murder occurred in the heat of the moment. When repeatedly asked about his sister’s involvement, he shook his head in denial.
The 21-year-old will next be presented in court, where police are expected to seek his remand.

A hush has fallen over the Ashiyana area of Lucknow, with neighbours and family members continuously discussing why a son would murder his own father and dismember his body.
Akshat reportedly ordered a knife online and personally went to buy a saw and a blue drum, in which he cut up and placed the body.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
