Lucknow civic body to carry out fogging drives to curb Zika virus

The district malaria department and LMC will also conduct campaigns in coordination to create awareness about the Zika virus among the residents of the city.

Lucknow mayor Sanyukta Bhatia has directed the municipal authorities to start massive fogging drives across the city as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of Zika virus. Reportedly, this decision has been taken after two Zika cases were confirmed in Krishnanagar and Phoolbagh areas of Lucknow.

According to a report published in the Hindustan Times (HT), to contain the spread of Zika virus, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) will also conduct special cleanliness drives in Zika-affected areas with the help of local corporators.
