Local contractors staged a protest against non-payment of their dues for construction of a four-lane road in Assam’s Biswanath district.

Local contractors in Assam’s Biswanath district have staged a protest against non-payment of dues for the construction work of a four-lane road. The contract for the construction work of National Highway 15 as a four-lane road from Jamugurihat to Biswanath-Gohpur was awarded to a road construction company a few years ago. The company had engaged at least 60 unemployed youths of Biswanath district in supplying materials and construction work for the project.
