The 26-year-old took the world by storm with his country rap song “Old Town Road” in 2019.
After showing bizarre behavior on a busy LA street and allegedly charging at police officers, “Old Town Road” rapper-singer Lil Nas X was hospitalized and then booked into a Los Angeles County jail on Thursday morning.
The Los Angeles Police Department said they were responding to a call about an unclothed man walking in Ventura Boulevard in Studio City when Lil Nas X, whose given name is Montero Lamar Hill, charged at officers who arrived at the scene.
“This morning, around 5:50 am, officers responded to the 11000 block of Ventura Bl for a nude man walking in the street. Upon arrival, the suspect charged at officers and was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose and placed under arrest for battery on a Police Officer,” the LAPD said in a statement to HuffPost.
A law enforcement source claimed that Hill punched an officer twice in the face, NBC News reported.
As of Thursday afternoon, Hill was in custody at the Valley Jail in Van Nuys, according to online booking records.
