Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah's scintillating performance with the ball went in vain as Mumbai Indians lost yet another game in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
The Indian fast bowler registered his first fifer in the T20 format to break the back of KKR middle order and restrict them to just 165 runs in their 20 overs. Bumrah first took a 2-wicket in his second over and then returned to take a 3-wicket maiden. He even bowled the final over of the innings and conceded just a single run.
Speaking after the game, Bumrah said that the fifer did feel good but it would have been better in a winning cause.
"I don't keep track of figures or goals, my aim is to stick to the process. Sometimes you bowl well but don't get wickets. I was bowling well in the Test series (against Sri Lanka). Can't get desperate. Just want to contribute in whatever way I can," Bumrah said.
"Always a good feeling to contribute but the important thing is for the team to win. We had our chance to do that but couldn't get it done. Well, it's about rectifying our mistakes and doing better next season," he further added.
The Mumbai speedster equalled Umran Malik in his record of taking a fifer in a losing cause in the 2022 edition of the league.
The SunRisers Hyderabad speedster had taken five wickets against Gujarat Titans but SRH could not covert Umran’s thundering spell into a victory.
