A dead body of a woman, believed to be in her 30s was recovered from Guwahati's Panikhaiti village area on Tuesday. The woman's hands and legs were tied with ropes.
Panic gripped the residents of Guwahati's Panikhaiti village, after a dead body of a woman, with her hands and legs tied with ropes, was recovered from the area on Tuesday.
While the body is believed to be of a 30-year-old woman, police are yet to establish the identity of the deceased.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), the woman's body was first discovered by the locals at Taribagan in Amgaon area of Panikhaiti, who then informed the police. Later, police reached the spot, took the body into custody and sent it to the Gauhati Medical College and hospital for post-mortem.
As per reports by Guwahati Plus, local residents suspect that the woman was raped and then murdered. Meanwhile, police said they have registered a case under relevant sections and are investigating the matter from every possible angle.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
