Lava to launch Blaze Pro made in India phone on September 20

Lava is yet to reveal the official specifications of the Lava Blaze Pro. Since the last-gen phone was aimed at entry-level customers, we can expect the upcoming device to feature modest upgrades.

Indian smartphone maker Lava is back with another smartphone, to be launched on September 20. Dubbed Lava Blaze Pro, the phone will succeed Lava Blaze, which was launched in India in July. Ahead of the launch, Lava has unveiled its design and four colour options that include Green, Orange, Blue, and White. The official poster also showcases a new camera module. The rear camera module now includes a periscope-style cutout, which used to be commonly available on Samsung's Note series and some flagship Huawei phones. A periscope-style camera lens helps with better zooming capabilities.

On the right, the Lava Blaze Pro includes volume rockers and the power button - a standard design on most smartphones these days. The poster reveals a waterdrop-style notch on the front panel that looks antiquated against the hole-punch cutout on many Android phones. Of course, Apple still uses its distinct long notch for iPhones. The display also has considerable bezels.

Lava is yet to reveal the official specifications of the Lava Blaze Pro. Since the last-gen phone was aimed at entry-level customers, we can expect the upcoming device to feature modest upgrades. Lava may hope to rival brands like Realme, Oppo, and Xiaomi that dominate India's budget smartphone segment.

Ahead of the launch, GSMArena had leaked the Lava Blaze Pro's photo and it reveals a 50-megapixel sensor on the back. The publication also highlights the Blaze Pro will have 6x zoom and a 6.5-inch HD+ notched display. The smartphone will reportedly also come with a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a chunky 5,000mAh battery.

Going by the alleged specifications, we can expect the Lava Blaze Pro to cost around Rs 15,000. The vanilla Lava Blaze features a 13-megapixel triple rear camera setup, a 6.5-inch IPS HD+ display, and a 5,000mAh battery. Its price in India starts at Rs 8,699 for the sole 3GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The phone also comes in four colours.
