Kolkata witnesses Monsoon Wading: Normal life thrown out of gear

Several areas in Kolkata are waterlogged as heavy rain lashed the city. Normal life has come to a halt as people struggle to wade through knee-deep water in many parts of the city.

Heavy rain lashed Kolkata resulting in several parts of the city being waterlogged. More than 100 mm rain was recorded at different places in the city from 1 am to 7 am on Monday, submerging many important thoroughfares and low-lying areas under knee-deep water.
