
Kerala police seizes Dileep's vehicle used by prime accused in actor assault case

Kerala police team probing the actor assault case on Friday seized a car owned by actor Dileep that was allegedly used by Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the assault case.
Kerala crime branch investigation team has seized a car owned by actor Dileep which was allegedly used by Pulsar Suni (NS Sunil), the first accused in actor assault case. Suni is said to have travelled with director Balachandra Kumar in this car over a year before the assault on the actor in Kochi.
The crime branch will reportedly tow the red Maruti Suzuki Swift that was used by the accused and others including Dileep's brother Anoop back in 2016. Dileep has owned the vehicle since 2008 and Balachandra Kumar's statement mentions that he travelled in the vehicle with Suni with whom actor Dileep claims to have no connection with.
Balachandra Kumar who was an acquaintance of Dileep is now a witness in the actor assault case and the subsequent conspiracy case to harm the investigation officers of actor assault case. He had testified that the actor and Suni were close.
As per Balachandra Kumar's statement, he had left in the car with Anoop and Suni on December 8, 2016 from Dileep's residence Padmasarovaram in Aluva.

Balachandrakumar had said that they dropped Suni at Paravoor Junction. The actor assault took place on the night of February 17, 2017.
By confiscating the car, the crime branch is hoping to validate Balachandrakumar's statement which could be crucial in the case.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
