Kerala gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh on Friday released the audio clips of her chat with Pinarayi Vijayan’s ‘mediator’ Shaj Kiran.
The prime accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, Swapna Suresh on Friday released the audio clips containing her alleged conversation with Shaj Kiran. Swapna Suresh had alleged that Shaj acted as a mediator to the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and had even threatened her to withdraw her statement given under Section 164 before the magistrate.
Swapna in her press meet also put fresh allegations on CPM leaders and said CM Pinarayi Vijayan and the party's state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan have offshore investments in the US which they are doing through the Believer's church.
The one-and-half hour long audio clip, according to Swapna is unaltered. In the press conference, Swapna said that she is a good friend of Shaj but circumstances forced her to release the audio clip. She claimed that Shaj Kiran was introduced to her by M Sivasankar.
Swapna, in the press meet, said that Shaj had warned her that Sarith would be taken away. "In a cinematic manner Sarith was taken away and we had no clue who had him..then I contacted Shaj again and then he said that in another 45 odd minutes Sarith will be let go off".
Swapna added, "Shaj Kiran is a director of several companies. How can a land broker who gets a small commission become a director of so many companies ? Shaj Kiran is such an influential person."
In the audio clip released by Swapna, the person on the phone can be heard giving her a heads up about a possible arrest and asking her lawyer to arrange for an anticipatory bail.
In the audio, the person whom Swapna claims as Shaj also said that he has been working on lifting her travel ban and finding a way to help her leave country. For that, Shaj had asked Swapna to talk to Nikesh Kumar. Additionally, Shaj had asked Swapna to hand over her phone to Nikesh.
