The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has said that they will accept nothing short of KV Thomas’s expulsion if the senior party leader attends the seminar at the CPM party congress that is underway in Kannur.
The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will accept nothing short of the expulsion of senior party leader KV Thomas, rather than giving him a mere suspension order, if he attends a seminar at the CPM party congress that is underway in Kannur.
Meanwhile, KV Thomas arrived at Kannur on Friday morning and will definitely attend a seminar on the topic 'Centre-State Relations'. He will be attending the function even though Congress party high command forbade him from doing so a few days ago.
The senior Congress leader announced on Thursday, April 7, that even though KPCC President K Sudhakaran had warned a couple of days ago that Thomas would have to face disciplinary action if he attended the event, he would take part in the event.
With the high command issuing a directive to not take part in the event, leaders like Shashi Tharoor and Ramesh Chennithala had withdrawn from the event. The All-India Congress Committee (AICC) might agree with the KPCC's opinion.
However, that depends on what the leader will speak at the meeting. It is also possible that AICC may leave the decision to the KPCC on how to deal with KV Thomas.
