Kanwar Yatra 2022: Preparation on final stage in UP for annual trek starting from July 14

The Kanwar Yatra is scheduled to be held from July 14 to July 26 this year after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A huge influx of kanwariyas is being anticipated this time owing to the two-year break, they said.

Kanwad Yatra, which takes place in the month of Sawan, will end on July 26. Kanwariyas (devotees of Lord Shiva) collect water from the Ganga River at Haridwar, Uttarakhand to offer at Shiva temples in their areas as part of the yatra.
The UP government also held a meeting with officials of Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Haryana in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government recently announced that 175 camps for kanwariyas will be set up to ensure that they do not face any inconvenience.
