Karnataka Rakshana Vedike - Narayan Gowda faction held a protest in Belagavi on Wednesday (May 28, 2025), against Tamil actor-director Kamal Hassan for his statement which allegedly hurt Kannada sentiments.
In a recent remark at the audio launch of his upcoming film Thug Life in Chennai, the actor claimed that ‘Tamil gave birth to Kannada’.
Outraged by this, activists burnt his image in front of the Inox film theatre and shouted slogans against the actor, saying he had insulted the Kannada language. They vowed not to allow the release of his movies in Karnataka.
Deepak Gudaganatti, Ganesh Rathod, Arjun Kamble, Abhishek Agasagi, Satish Guddadavar and others were present.
