Kamal Haasan regrets not working with Dilip Kumar, says he begged him to act in Thevar Magan Hindi remake

Kamal Haasan spoke about missing the opportunity to work with late actor Dilip Kumar. The legendary actor breathed his last on July 7, 2021.
Kamal Haasan in a recent interview spoke about not getting a chance to work with legendary actor Dilip Kumar. Kamal, in his interview, revealed that he had 'begged' Dilip ji to work with him, but alas, he had already quit acting. Kamal Haasan said that he had asked Dilip Kumar to be a part of the Hindi remake of his Tamil film Thevar Magan.
Kamal Haasan is a self-confessed Dilip Kumar fan. Speaking at a promotional event for his upcoming film Vikram, he said, "There's one actor whom I miss and I really wanted to work with. I really held his hand and begged him but he had decided not to act, Dilip Kumar sahab. I wanted to make Thevar Magan with him. It didn't happen so I gave it to another friend and he made it with Anil Kapoor sahab and Amrish Puri sahab."
Thevar Magan was remade in Hindi as Virasat. The film was directed by Priyadarshan and featured Tabu, Pooja Batra, Milind Gunaji, and Govind Namdeo, apart from Anil and Amrish.
Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have been friends for over 40 years now. Recently, the Vikram star spoke about how the two have different political ideologies. Ahead of his Vikram's release on June 3, Haasan met Thalaiva in Chennai. Lokesh Kanagraj took to social media to share pictures and thanked the two superstars.
"Thank you @ikamalhaasan Sir! @rajinikanth Sir! What a friendship! inspiring Love you Sir's (sic)," wrote Lokesh.
