
Junior doctors shouldn't blackmail people at peak of pandemic: MP Medical Education Minister

MP Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang on Friday said that it is not appropriate for striking junior doctors to blackmail patients at the peak of a pandemic.
The stand-off between the Madhya Pradesh government and junior doctors posted in medical colleges across the state further intensified on Friday as medical education minister Vishwas Sarang hit out at the striking doctors saying, it is not appropriate to blackmail patients at the peak of a pandemic. The striking junior doctors responded by claiming that all the doctors united and submitted their mass resignations to the government in response to the state high court’s directive on Thursday that asked the striking doctors to resume their duties within 24 hours. The high court, while calling the strike "illegal", criticised the doctors for choosing a time when the pandemic had devastated people across the country.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
