As lakhs of candidates checked their JEE Main 2026 results, a unique story emerged from Odisha. Twin brothers not only qualified but ended up with identical scores, reflecting years of parallel preparation and discipline.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday announced the results of the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination, bringing to light a rare coincidence among this year’s qualifiers. Twin brothers from Odisha secured identical scores of 285 marks, standing out amid the massive national-level engineering entrance test.
In an unusual academic achievement, Mahroof and Masroor Ahmed Khan from Bhubaneswar matched each other’s performance in JEE Main 2026, reflecting years of shared discipline, focused preparation, and mutual encouragement throughout their journey.
The brothers spent several years preparing side by side, eventually moving to Kota, widely regarded as the country’s coaching hub for engineering aspirants. Studying together became central to their preparation strategy, helping them navigate both successes and setbacks.

“Since the start, we have studied together, clearing doubts together. We used to motivate each other when the results did not go well,” Mahroof Ahmad Khan said.
“This led to healthy competition and improved performance. We belong to Bhubaneswar. My mother currently lives with us. She left her job just to come and support us during our preparation, he added.
