Jayalalithaa death probe panel tells Panneerselvam to appear on March 21

The Arumugasamy commission probing the death of former Tamil Nadu CM, Jayalalithaa, has issued a summons to AIADMK leader and former deputy CM O Panneerselvam to appear before the commission on March 21.

The Arumugasamy Commission, which is investigating the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, has issued a summons to AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam to appear before the commission on March 21.

The commission has been conducting an investigation into the death of the former AIADMK chief. So far, over 154 people have been inquired, including doctors, nurses, Jayalalithaa's staff and several others.

O Panneerselvam, who had demanded the formation of a commission to probe into the mystery surrounding Jayalalithaa's death, was summoned by the commission earlier. However, he had sought more time to appear before the commission.

A fresh summons has been issued to the former deputy CM, O Panneerselvam.

Earlier this week, Apollo Hospitals doctor, Babu Manohar, said that Jayalalithaa was seriously ill when she took oath as the chief minister in 2016.

J Jayalalithaa, former CM of Tamil Nadu, died on December 6, 2016 due to cardiac arrest.

The TN government appointed a commission led by Justice Arumugasamy to investigate the causes that led to AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa’s death. She was hospitalised for 75 days and there was a lot of speculation over the cause of her death.
