A video of a Japanese volleyball player Yuji Nishida's dramatic apology to a female staff member after he accidentally hit her with a ball turned heads on social media for it's dramatic and humorous nature.
The incident occurred at the SV League All-Star event during a practice session involving Osaka Bluteon, where Nishida currently serves as team captain. While warming up his serves on the court, Nishida accidentally sent the ball off-target, striking a female staff member standing nearby.
Realising what had happened, Nishida immediately sprinted towards the staff member before dropping to the floor and sliding across the court on his stomach, ending with his forehead pressed firmly against the ground, which was a gesture resembling a deeply respectful, traditional Japanese apology.
The staff member appeared unharmed, but Nishida’s exaggerated and heartfelt response quickly became the star of the moment. Clips of the apology began circulating widely across social media platforms, with users describing it as equal parts dramatic, respectful, and unintentionally hilarious.
