J&K LG visits family of slain BJP councillor, sanctions Rs 40 lakh as ex-gratia

Rakesh Pandita was shot by militants in the Tral belt of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on June 2. LG Manoj Sinha has assured that the terrorists involved in the incident will be brought to justice soon.

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha on Saturday visited the family of municipal councillor Rakesh Pandita, who was gunned down by terrorists in Pulwama earlier this month, and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family members. Sinha assured the Pandita family of stringent action against the perpetrators, and informed that a high-level investigation has already been initiated. He added that the terrorists involved in this heinous act of violence will be brought to justice soon.
