
J&K govt issues order to protect properties of Kashmiri Pandits

The J&K government has issued an order for the preservation and protection of immovable assets of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
In a major move, the J&K administration has issued an order for the preservation and protection of immovable properties of displaced Kashmiri Pandits. The order has asked the officials to implement the J&K Migrant Immovable Properties Act, 1997 strictly and in letter and spirit. Relief/Revenue department has been asked to prepare an online portal for displaced Pandits so that they can register their complaints about encroachments etc.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
