Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reintroduce cheetahs into the Indian wildlife on September 17 in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park (KNP). The day also happens to be his 72nd birthday. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the whole country is eagerly waiting for their arrival. The cheetahs are arriving from South Africa’s Namibia on Saturday. The excitement around the project is so much that #CheetahIsBack has started trending on Twitter.
The official Twitter handles of All India Radio and Press Information Bureau (PIB), have dedicated posts to celebrate their reintroduction into the Indian wildlife.
Union minister Bhupender Yadav said on September 11 that more than 25 cheetahs will be brought to KNP in a phased manner in the future. Initially, eight cheetahs will arrive at the KNP on September 17 (Saturday).
