Is Uddhav Thackeray friends with Dawood for CM post, asks BJP leader Kirit Somaiya

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, if he is friends with the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim for the post.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again hit out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the inaction of the state towards jailed NCP leader Nawab Malik.

The BJP has asserted that now even the court has said that there is prima-facie evidence against NCP leader Nawab Malik suggesting that he knowingly indulged in money laundering and connived with the likes of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Hasina Parkar and others. The BJP has questioned the intent of CM Uddhav Thackeray.

The saffron party charged that in order to get power, the chief minister gave up on the principles of his father and what Balasahib Thackeray stood for. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya said that Uddhav Thackeray’s father Balasahib Thackeray often talked about the friendship of Sharad Pawar and Dawood Ibrahim and yet, in order to get power, Uddhav Thackeray compromised on the principles.

“We have been saying from day one that Nawab Malik is an agent of Dawood. And now even the court has said it and even Uddhav Thackeray knows about itbut is Uddhav Thackeray together with Dawood and is friends with him now? This is what it looks like,” said Kirit Somaiya.

“Uddhav Thackeray is worried about his CM post and hence he’s compromised his culture and his father’s life. So now that Dawood’s agent is in the government it could be possible that either there is friendship with Dawood or he has issued threats saying if my agent is shown the door then for how long will you remain the CMNow the people of Maharashtra will decide whether he needs to remain as CM or not,” he added.
