Irrfan's last words to son Babil Khan before he died, I'm going to die

On the first anniversary of Irrfan's death, Babil Khan and Sutapa Sikdar opened up about their relationship with the late actor. Babil revealed what Irrfan said to him during his last days in the hospital.

It's been a year since Irrfan left for his heavenly abode. The acclaimed actor breathed his last on April 29 after two long years of battle with neuroendocrine tumour. Recently, Irrfan's wife, Sutapa Sikdar, and son, Babil Khan, opened up about the late actor and what he said to them in his final days. Babil revealed that Irrfan told him, "I am going to die", a few days before his death. It was one of the last things he said, Babil added. In an emotional interview with Film Companion, Sutapa Sikdar and Babil Khan described their relationship with Irrfan and how he surrendered himself to uncertainty. Babil spoke about his last moments with his ‘Baba’. Babil said, "I was there in the hospital in the last two days. He was losing consciousness. He just looked at me, smiled and said, ‘I am going to die.’ And I said, ‘No, you are not.’ He smiled again and went back to sleep. But I really feel like he had surrendered completely. There are no words to achieve that kind of evolution I think.”
