Indian Army Chief Gen MM Naravane said that the investigation into the killing of 14 civilians in Nagaland will be complete within 2 days.
The Indian Army’s investigation into the killing of 14 civilians in Nagaland will be complete in a day or two and action against the erring army personnel will be taken in accordance with the law, Indian Army Chief Gen MM Naravane said.
Calling the incident where a team of Indian Army’s special forces in a case of mistaken identity shot dead 14 civilians assuming them to be armed insurgents in the Mon district of Nagaland “highly regrettable,” the army chief answering a question whether the army personnel involved will get any protection under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPSA) said, “Law of the land is paramount and we will uphold that and take action accordingly.”

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
