Internet most important part of economy, cybersecurity requires max attention: IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Information and Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Thursday that while the Internet is the most important part of the economy, cybersecurity requires the maximum attention.
The Minister of Information and Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday stressed that the Internet is the most important part of the economy and society and it is crucial to define its norm of governance.
Speaking at the India Internet Governance Forum 2021 (IIGF 2021), Ashiwini Vaishnaw said, "We have to bridge the digital divide with a focus on marginalised people living in the remotest part of the country. It is also important to decide the ownership of the content shared online. Young minds are easily tempted to believe in what is shared online, especially on social media, and there is a need to decide responsibilities."
