Internet applauded cop who rescued a dog from a burning car. The video from the incident has gone viral on social media.

A sheriff's deputy in Colorado, US is being hailed for rescuing a pet dog trapped in a burning car. A video from the incident was shared by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on their official Facebook page. Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Gregorek was the officer who rescued the trapped dog and footage of the incident was recorded on his bodycam.

Officer Gregorek arrived at the scene after getting a call about a vehicle on fire. On arriving at the site, the officer saw a man shouting in panic to save his dog trapped inside the vehicle from which dense fumes were coming out. The rescuers broke the window panes of the car with the baton but they couldn’t figure out where the dog is. They finally broke the back windshield and the owner called out to his dog. Then, he finally shows up.

However, the ordeal did not end there. The wounded owner first tried to bring out the dog from the opening but he didn’t succeed. Then it was finally the deputy who pulled out Hank (the dog) from the car.

The video that was shared by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on Facebook shows footage of the entire incident followed by the interview of the deputy who helped rescue the dog. “The video speaks for itself. What a phenomenal ending to a scary situation for all,” the video caption reads.

Netizens were all praise for the deputy who saved the dog’s life. “The Blue always do the right thing with a calm level head! Thank you for all you do! Douglas County Sheriffs rock (sic),” a user wrote. “Wow, what a wonderful happy ending! Great job, Deputy! You brought tears to every dog lover's eyes with this rescue (sic),” another comment read.
