After more than six years in jail in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea got bail this week and has returned to her home in Mumbai.
Indrani Mukerjea walked out of Byculla Jail in Mumbai on Friday after more than six years. Earlier this week, the Supreme Court granted her bail in the Sheena Bora murder case.

The Supreme Court granted her bail on Wednesday.
In its order, the court said, "Indrani Mukherjea has been in custody for six and half years. This case is based on circumstantial evidence. We are not making comments on the merits of the case. Even if 50 per cent of witnesses are given up by the prosecution, the trial would not be over soon. She is granted bail. She will be released on bail subject to the satisfaction of the trial court. The same conditions imposed on Peter Mukherjea would also be imposed on her."
Indrani Mukerjea’s now former husband and media baron, Peter Mukerjea, was also an accused in the case along with two others. Peter Mukerjea also served a jail term in the case.
