
Indian student wants to stay back in Ukraine 'till end of war' to look after landlord's family

A 17-year-old girl from Haryana has decided to stay back in Kyiv to look after her Ukrainian landlord's wife and three children, as per a Facebook post by a friend of the student's mother.
Three days have passed since Russian forces invaded Ukraine under the garb of a 'special military operation'. Russian troops are now advancing on Kyiv while engaging the Ukrainian army on multiple fronts.
United Nations (UN) estimates that the Russian invasion of Ukraine has already displaced nearly 100,000 Ukrainians.
Among those in Ukraine who now find themselves scrambling to find refuge are nearly 20,000 Indian nationals. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has initiated 'Operation Ganga' to bring back Indian nationals, including students, stranded in Ukraine.

However, one 17-year-old student from Haryana has refused to return home.
The medical student wants to stay in Ukraine till the end of the war to look after her Ukrainian landlord's wife and three children.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, a friend of the student's mother shared this story about a 17-year-old who went to Ukraine for her bachelor's degree.
