A viral video showing train seats deliberately slashed with blades has triggered widespread outrage online. Social media users called for better surveillance and stricter punishments to protect public transport infrastructure.
Train seats slashed with blades inside a passenger coach have triggered outrage online after a disturbing video showing damaged seating was shared on social media.
The video was shared on X by user Woke Eminent, who alleged deliberate vandalism targeting public transport infrastructure.
In the post, the user wrote, “Train seats slashed with blades. The usual suspects strike again. These are people who despise India’s growing infrastructure, who find comfort not in progress but in destruction.”
They then went on to add, “Whenever the nation builds, they cut. Whenever the country moves forward, they try to tear it apart one act of sabotage at a time.”
The accompanying video shows a close-up of train seats with a long, clean slit running down the upholstery, exposing the inner cushioning, showing how it was cut intentionally using a sharp object rather than damaged through wear and tear.
The visuals were shocking enough to receive attention, with several users showing their anger over what they described as reckless destruction of public property used by thousands of daily commuters.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said the United States was in contact with "the right people" in Iran and suggested that Tehran was eager to reach an agreement to halt hostilities. "We're in negotiations right now," he told reporters, without offering further details on the scope or format of the talks.
