India records 91,702 Covid cases, 3,403 deaths in a day; active cases drop below 11.2 lakh

India recorded 91,702 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, less than 1 lakh cases for the fourth day in a row, thus continuing the declining trend in Covid spread.

India reported 91,702 new cases of Covid-19, the lowest single-day rise in infections in around two months, taking the infection tally to 2,92,74,823, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday morning. This is the fourth day in a row when daily infections in India are below one lakh. The death toll from Covid-19 climbed to 3,63,079 with 3,403 new fatalities, while the number of active cases was recorded below 11.5 lakh, the data updated at 8 am showed.
