
India no longer befriends nations under compulsion: PM Modi's dig at Congress

PM Narendra said that after his government took over, India has no longer been helpless and now, doesn’t have to befriend any nation under compulsion. He said India now extends a helping hand to the entire world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, May 31, said that there had been a dramatic shift in India’s foreign policy since his government took over. He said that India is no longer helpless and doesn’t have to befriend any nation in compulsion.
PM Modi was speaking at the Garib Kalyan Sammelan in Shimla on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the Modi 2.0 government.

“India no longer has to beg. Today, India extends a helping hand to the entire world. We sent vaccines to over 150 nations. We proved that we have the potential and we are performers. India now has to fulfil the aspirations of people in other nations as well,” he said.
“I have never seen myself in the post of a Prime Minister except for signing files. I am only Pradhan sevak, a member of the 130-crore strong family of India. My life is dedicated to you,” PM Modi said.
“On the 8th anniversary of my government, I want to reaffirm my resolution that we will work for the development of people living even in the remotest corners of India,” he said.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
