
India, China commit to expeditious disengagement in Ladakh; Chinese maintain rigid stance on Depsang

India and China had a "candid" exchange of views on disengagement in remaining areas along the LAC in eastern Ladakh during the 12th round of Corps Commander level talks held on Saturday, according to a joint statement.
Further de-escalation in eastern Ladakh was discussed during the 12th round of India-China Corps Commander level talks on Saturday. The meeting was held at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Indian side. Among key issues that came up during the discussion were Gogra and Hot Springs, which are friction points in eastern Ladakh where complete disengagement is yet to be achieved.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
