In four years, ₹249.34 crore worth of development works implemented in Pethanaickenpalayam, says Collector

Salem District Collector oversees ₹249.34 crore development works in Pethanaickenpalayam panchayat union, emphasizing timely completion and water supply.
The Salem District Collector, R. Brindha Devi, said that in the last four years, ₹249.34 crore worth of development works were implemented in the Pethanaickenpalayam panchayat union on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Collector inspected the development works that are taking place at the Pethanaickenpalayam panchayat union in the district. The Collector inspected the works including construction of taluk public health laboratory at a cost of ₹54.75 lakhs at Ariyapalayam; renovating two houses under the Rural Buildings Maintenance and Renovation scheme at Ariyapalayam; new panchayat office for Keezh Veeragoundanur panchayat at ₹30.10 lakhs; road laid between Veeragoundanur and Olapadi via Uthukadu at ₹1.59 crore under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana; construction of additional classrooms at Thumbal panchayat under NABARD scheme at ₹35.30 lakhs; sanitary complex constructed at Thumbal Government Girls High School at ₹4.90 lakh; sales centre for women self help groups at ₹7.30 lakh in Edayapatti; construction of over head water tank at Vellalapatti at ₹18.42 lakhs and paver block road at Vellalapatti at a cost of ₹7.22 lakhs.
Speaking to the reporters, the Collector said that in the past four years under the various schemes, including the Chief Minister’s Rural Roads Development Scheme, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, School Infrastructure Development Scheme, Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam, Kalaignar Kanavu Illam Scheme, and Iyothee Thass Pandithar Habitation Development Scheme, a total of 6,768 works worth Rs. 249.34 crore were taken up and of those, 4,836 works were completed and the remaining 1,932 works are going on in Pethanaickenpalayam panchayat Union. Instruction was given to concerned officials to complete the works at the scheduled time and asked to give importance to issues related to drinking water supply in the union and to monitor the proper drinking water supply and take all precautionary measures considering the summer season, Ms. Brindha Devi added.
During the inspection, officials from the concerned department participated.
