
In a landmark move, Govt revises Indian Navy personnel's sea going allowance

Indian government implements revision of allowance for risk and hardships faced by Indian Navy personnel deployed at sea.
The Government of India has taken a landmark decision to address the existing anomaly with respect to the compensatory allowance for risk and hardships (sea going allowance) faced by personnel of Indian Navy while being deployed at sea.
The Ministry of Defence welcomed the decision and said that it will further enhance the resolve and morale of the dedicated Naval personnel who are deployed for operations in high risk areas, anti-piracy operations, maritime security and international maritime boundary line (IMBL) patrols etc, defending our maritime interests in Indian Ocean and beyond.
"It is a fitting recognition of the services rendered by our men and women in whites in the year of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav," a release by the MoD read.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
