
IIT Madras collaborates with Samunnati Foundation to support Indian agritech startups

IIT Madras Incubation Cell has decided to collaborate with Samunnati Foundation to support Indian agritech startups.
IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC) has collaborated with Samunnati Foundation, a non-profit subsidiary of Samunnati Financial Intermediation and Services Private Ltd, to encourage innovative technologies in agriculture and allied areas in India.
The two organizations have signed an MoU to promote agritech startups to improve farmer incomes, reduce waste and encourage sustainable agriculture. Through this partnership, the organizations will provide incubation support/facilities for entrepreneurial ventures, prepare position papers and propose policy recommendations.

Meta is scaling back its plans for a metaverse. The Mark Zuckerberg-led firm has announced that the company will be shutting down the Horizons World app from VR by June this year. This announcement comes after the company laid off workers from the Reality Labs division that was responsible for its metaverse projects.
