Bala Nandgaonkar said there would be repercussions across Maharashtra if MNS chief Raj Thackeray was harmed.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Bala Nandgaonkar warned that there would be repercussions across Maharashtra if party chief Raj Thackeray was harmed. The MNS leader’s warning comes after receiving a letter threatening to kill him and the MNS chief for taking a stand against Azaan.
"If there is even scratch on Raj Thackarey, entire Maharashtra will see strong repercussions", warned MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar on Wednesday.
Bala Nandgaonkar met with MNS Chief Raj Thackarey at his residence 'Shivtirth' today. Following the meeting, Nandgaonkar told reporters that his office received a letter written in Hindi with some Urdu words threatening to kill him and Raj Thackarey for raking up the issue of loudspeakers over mosque.

Earlier today, Bala Nandgaonkar met Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil over the letter threatening Raj Thackeray and demanded action. The MNS leader demanded that security detail of Raj Thackarey should be beefed up. He also met Mumbai Police Commissioner and Joint Commissioner of police Crime yesterday.
The Maharashtra home minister assured him that he will speak to Mumbai Police Commissioner and nab the culprits soon.
"The home minister said he will talk to the police commissioner. Now they will take whatever action that is necessary. But if even the slightest harm comes to Raj Thackeray, Maharashtra will burn. The state government has to take note of this,” Nandgaonkar added.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
