Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad will be welcoming home team Gujarat Titans on May 29. A sold out stadium is expected to be buzzing in support of the home team who will play the IPL final in their first season.

Gujarat Titans will be playing the final of the Indian Premier League in front of their home crowd in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 29 May. Gujarat, who have dominated the tournament throughout and topped the group stage, stormed into the final on Tuesday, 24 May.

Playing at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, David Miller hit three sixes in the first three balls of the last over to take GT over the line, in what turned out to be a tense game in the IPL playoffs.

Speaking after the game GT batsman Shubman Gill who gave his team a ballistic start in the final said that he is very excited to play the finals in front of the home fans.

A packed stadium is expected in the Narendra Modi stadium, which holds a capacity of one lakh, the highest in India and at par with the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

“I hear that there is going to be a huge packed ground in Ahmedabad?” man of the match David Miller asked Shubman in the post-match catch up.

“I am very excited. I have never played with a crowd of over a lakh people watching us and it will be pretty amazing and the atmosphere will be something that we can feed off. So hopefully it will be a great game for us.”

Gujarat have been exceptional under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, who has led from the front, scoring 453 runs in the tournament. They have had match winners in every department, with the likes of Wriddhiman Saha, David Miller, Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia putting their hands up whenever needed. They have quite a bit of time to rest and regain their freshness ahead of the finals as Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals vye for the second spot in the finals of the Indian Premier League.
