The Income Tax department is conducting a search at the residence of DMK chief MK Stalin's son-in-law Sabareesan in Tamil Nadu's Neelankarai.
The Income Tax department is conducting a search at the residence of DMK chief MK Stalin's son-in-law Sabareesan in Tamil Nadu's Neelankarai. Besides, I-T searches are also underway at four properties owned by Sabareesan. The development comes just days ahead of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Sabareesan has been a close adviser of Stalin and is known to be a key strategist for DMK. Last month, DMK leader EV Velu's premises were searched in Tiruvannamalai and Chennai. Income tax officials conducted searches at over 10 locations. The 70-year-old is seeking re-election from Tiruvannamalai constituency.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
