Hyderabad police have arrested a priest after he attacked a devotee for entering a ‘prohibited’ area. CCTV cameras caught the incident and the devotee filed a case against the temple priest.
An assault by a temple priest on a devotee was captured on CCTV at a temple in Secunderabad. The accused, priest Prabhakar Sharman, attacked the devotee, who was identified as Valmiki Rao. The priest has said that he attacked the devotee for entering a ‘prohibited’ area.
The incident took place at Ganesh temple in Secunderabad on February 27. Hyderabad police arrested the priest after the devotee filed a case against the temple priest the next day.
Police arrested Sharman under Sections 323 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is underway.
