Hyderabad police arrest two men for manufacturing adulterated ginger paste in unhygienic conditions, seizing 675 kilograms of product.
Two men were arrested by the Mailardevpally police for manufacturing and selling adulterated ginger paste in unhygienic conditions to shops in Hyderabad.
The accused was identified as 45-year-old Mohammed Ziyauddin, owner of a unit operating under the name “Seven Cooks”, and 47-year-old Mohammed Mazhar Ali, owner of “Arjun Enterprises”. Both are residents of Subhan Colony Phase-II.
The police said the action followed a tip-off that adulterated ginger paste was being prepared and sold from a house in Subhan Colony at Ali Nagar in violation of food safety norms. The police team conducted a raid on Wednesday (March 11, 2025) and found the accused allegedly preparing ginger paste in unhygienic conditions using spoiled raw material and chemicals.
The investigators said the accused manufactured the paste without following any regulatory standards and supplying it to local shops in Hyderabad.
During the raid, police seized about 675 kilograms of ginger paste along with related materials. The seized items included 16 small drums filled with ginger paste, five cartons containing half-kilogram cans of ginger waste, cartons containing five-kilogram cans, 200 labels bearing the name “Seven Cooks”, packets labelled “Block Gold Spices”, and 1.5 kilograms of xanthan gum powder. The total value of the seized material is estimated at around ₹90,000. Two cases were registered at Mailardevpally police and further investigation is under way.
