A house help has been arrested for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh from her ex-employer's house in Hibiscus society, Sector 50 area in Gurugram.
Gurugram Police has arrested a domestic help for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh from her ex-employer's house in Hibiscus society, Sector 50 area.
As per PTI reports, the matter came to light on Sunday when Pradeep Kumar, the owner of the house, approached police alleging that his former housemaid had stolen jewellery and cash from his house.
Pradeep in his complaint stated that the woman had quit her job a week ago, but again returned to work only on Sunday.
“My mother was busy at prayer and refused to employ her. In the meantime, she entered the room and stole cash, gold and silver jewellery and other valuables from my house,” he said in his complaint.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
It was on Sunday night that police managed to nab the house help from her rented accommodation in Tigra village. The stolen cash and jewellery were also recovered from her possession.
Meanwhile, police have also launched a manhunt for the accused's husband, who is also said to be involved in the incident and is still absconding, reported news agency PTI.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
