Himanta Sarma’s ‘see you in court’ retort to Manish Sisodia’s graft accusations

In a series of tweets, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma dismissed corruption allegations against his wife. He warned of criminal defemation suit against AAP leader Manish Sisodia.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma warned of “criminal defamation” suit against Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia after the latter raised questions over an alleged PPE supply scam. At a press conference in Delhi on Saturday, Manish Sisodia slammed the BJP and asked why the party was silent on the alleged PPE supply scam involving the Assam CM’s wife.
In a series of tweets, Himanta Biswa Sarma dismissed allegations against his wife. He further accused Manish Sisodia of refusing help to Assamese people stuck in Delhi during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“At a time when the entire country was facing the worst pandemic in over 100 years , Assam hardly had any PPE Kits. My wife took the courage of coming forward and donating around 1500 free of cost to the govt to save lives. She didn’t take a single penny,” Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted on Saturday.

He added, “While you Mr Manish Sisodia at that point of time showed a completely different side. You refused my multiple calls to help Assamese people stuck in Delhi. I can never forget one instance when I had to wait 7 days just to get a Assamese Covid victim’s body from Delhi’s mortuary.”
