Hijab row: Can’t enforce personal religious beliefs on India's institutions, says Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath issued his comments on the ongoing hijab row. He stated that people can’t impose personal religious beliefs on India’s institutions. He said that the dress code must be enforced in schools.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued his comments regarding the ongoing hijab row in the country. On Monday, February 14, theBJP leader said that the system should run as per the constitution.
“The system should run as per the Constitution. We can't impose our personal religious beliefs & choices on the country & its institutions. Can I ask all employees in UP to wear 'bhagwa'? Dress code must be enforced in schools,” said Yogi Adityanath to news agency ANI.

The Karnataka High Court is set to resume hearing the hijab case at 2:30 pm today. Schools in Karnataka will reopen today after a meeting between the local administration and leaders was held on Sunday evening to ensure communal harmony.
Pradeep Kurdekar, Tehsildar of Udupi, Raghupati Bhat, local MLA, and ST Siddalingappa, Additional Superintendent of Police, presided over the meeting. Route/flag marches were also carried out in some towns in the Udupi district to maintain law and order.
