A high-speed bullet train derailed in China's Guizhou province on Saturday, killing the driver and wounding at least seven passengers. Two coaches of the train derailed due to a mudslide at Rongjiang station.
The bullet train D2809 was running from China’s South Western Guiyang province to the Southern province of Guangzhou when the two carriages derailed at a tunnel entrance of Rongjiang station in Guizhou, the state-run China Daily reported.

According to a report by the Global Times, all injured people were sent to the local hospital, and the other 136 passengers have been transferred and excavated.
The China railway, after analysing on-board data, reported that the driver spotted an abnormal rail track when the bullet train ran through Yuezhai tunnel, and quickly instituted emergency braking measures in five seconds that only made the train slide over 900 meters.
