
Heavy downpour on the cards for Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, parts of northeast in next 5 days

The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal in the next 24 hours.
Releasing an alert for the next five days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal in the next 24 hours.
“Squally weather (wind speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) is very likely over southeast and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Squally winds of 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely over southwest Arabian Sea, along and off Somalia coast, Gulf of Mannar, along and off south Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka coast, southeast and adjoining southwest, west-central Bay of Bengal,” the IMD said in a release, advising fishermen not to go out.

The Met Office has said heavy rains were likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Sunday.
On Sunday, squally weather (wind speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) is very likely over southeast and adjoining southwest, east-central Bay of Bengal.
“Squally winds of 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely over southwest Arabian Sea, along and off Somalia coast, Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Comorin area, along and off Sri Lanka coast, south of southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, northeast Bay of Bengal, along and off Myanmar coast,” the weatherman said.
On Monday, a heavy downpour is likely over Odisha, at isolated places over Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
