Harry Styles stopped by "Saturday Night Live" a week early.
The "As It Was" singer made a surprise appearance on the sketch show's March 7 episode, hosted by Ryan Gosling. Styles, who will host "SNL" on March 14, was seated in the audience during Gosling's opening monologue, a fact the "Barbie" star noted early on.
The premise of the rest of the sketch was that Gosling was so thrown off by Styles being in attendance, and potentially upstaging him, that he had trouble proceeding with his original monologue plans involving an elaborate space-themed musical number.
"Is that Harry Styles?" Gosling asked, before the camera cut to the Grammy winner casually sitting in the crowd as the audience erupted into cheers. "What are you doing here, man?"
