
Gurugram MC kick starts 'Carry your own bag’ campaign to make city plastic-free

In an attempt to make the city free from single-use plastic and polythene bags, the Gurugram Municipal Corporation (MC) launched a 'Carry your own bag’ campaign on Wednesday.
Ahead of the Swachh Survekshan 2022 survey, the Gurugram Municipal Corporation (MC) launched 'Carry your own bag’ campaign at a mall in DLF-1 to make the city plastic-free. The campaign, launched on Wednesday, will also ensure the participation of citizens to make Gurugram free from single-use plastic and polythene bags.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), MCG officials urged the residents to use jute or cloth bags instead of polythene bags. The officials informed that 'Carry your own bag’ campaign will continue till the annual cleanliness survey continues. Recently, the city secured 24th position in Swachh Surveskshan rankings and is facing a hard time sustaining its position.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
