In view of the Covid-19 spike and Omicron scare, the Gujarat government has cancelled the annual Kite festival and Flower Show 2022.
The Gujarat government has cancelled the annual Kite festival and Flower Show 2022 in the state on account of the rapid surge in Covid cases and the spread of Omicron variant. Gujarat's annual Kite festival starts a week ahead of Makar Sakranti. The Flower show was scheduled to be held on the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahemadabad from January 8 to 23. Notably, the flower show 2022 was supposed to be organised on the riverfront between Ellis and Sadar Bridge with around 1,000 different varieties of flowers for the decor.
