Gujarat AIMIM spokesperson Danish Qureshi has been arrested for posting a derogatory comment on social media against the 'Shivling' that was discovered at the Kashi Gyanvapi Masjid.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Gujarat, spokesperson Danish Qureshi has been arrested by the Ahmedabad cybercrime branch for an alleged derogatory comment on the purported discovery of a Shivling at the Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
The Vishva Hindu Parishad has lodged a complaint against Qureshi alleging that he had posted objectionable content on the ‘Shivling’ on social media.

A dome-shaped structure that was discovered during a three-day survey at the Kashi Gyanvapi Masjid earlier this week is being claimed to be a Shivling by Hindus associated with the matter. However, the Muslim party in the case has dismissed the claim, saying that the structure is actually a fountain.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Varanasi district magistrate to protect the area where the ‘Shivling’ was found without impeding the right of Muslims to enter and worship.
"The action was taken after it came to the notice of the cyber team that derogatory language was used against Hindu gods and goddesses from a Twitter handle belonging to Qureshi. We carried out a technical analysis of the Twitter handle and arrested Qureshi," Crime Branch ACP JM Yadav was quoted as saying by PTI.
