The NIA court in Guwahati on Thursday acquitted activist and MLA Akhil Gogoi and three others in a sedition case along with other charges.
Assam MLA and Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi alleged that the BJP-led Union government used central agencies to find terror links in the anti-CAA movement. Akhil Gogoi, who was arrested on December 12, 2019, for his alleged involvement in a violent anti-CAA stir in Assam, was acquitted by the Special NIA (National Investigation Agency) court in Guwahati on Thursday. He had faced sedition and other charges under anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act or UAPA.More Related News
